Founded in 1949, Caimi is one of Europe’s leading design-oriented furniture and furnishings manufacturers operating in the home, office and contract sectors, with Snowsound it has focused its scientific and technological research on the acoustic wellbeing sector, inventing a series of sound-absorbing materials and solutions.

Founded in 1949, Caimi has always combined the precision of industrial manufacturing with the attention to details and finishings that is central to the best of Italian craftsmanship.

DESIGNER - Caimi works with the most highly renowned Italian and international designers and architects, but also with young up-and-coming designers, and, in order to carry out applied research, with some of the finest universities and most cutting-edge research centres in Italy.

AWARDS - With pieces featured in international design museums, it has received high-profile recognition around the world, including two Compasso d’Oro Awards, three German Awards and a DesignEuropa Award, assigned by the European Union Intellectual Property Office, confirming Caimi’s commitment towards conducting research and towards protecting the inventiveness that constitutes the company’s primary asset.

ATTENTION TO DETAILS - Right from its origins, Caimi has adopted an innovative approach to work based on a philosophy that marries the quality of artisan know-how with the perfection of a modern, technologically advanced company.

MADE IN ITALY - The products are designed, developed and manufactured in Italy.

ECOLOGY - Caimi which has always been sensitive to environmental issues and eco-sustainability uses, where technically possible, recyclable or reusable materials. Production consists mainly of single-material, easily recyclable objects: objects made of multiple materials are in most cases designed to be disassembled. This allows separate recycling of the individual components. Approximately 90% of Caimi products are processed within a 30 km radius from our central plant, where our logistics centre is located. This set up significantly reduces product transportation travel, thereby decreasing fuel consumption of the vehicles.

PATENTS - Since its foundation in 1949, Caimi has believed it is essential to protect its inventions and its work by patents because “Ideas are the only human capital” (Renato Caimi).

Hundreds of Caimi products are protected by patents and models, as a guarantee of the attention paid to the utility and originality of the products offered. This constant commitment has elevated Caimi among the stars of the “Disegno e Design – Brevetti e creatività italiani” exhibition at the Ara Pacis in Rome and winner of the first edition of “DesignEuropa Award”, organized by the European Union Intellectual Property Office EUIPO. The award celebrates excellence in the field of design and its management among owners of registered European Community designs and models DMC.
